End user training

I'm a newbie to SPS. I'm in the process of installing SPS 3 (no MOSS)
for the first time and that is going well. My question is what is the
current wisdom on end-user training? I searched the archives but found
posts that were several months old. I was hoping that there is an
inexpensive CBT or online course that covers some of the basics for
users with 'contribute' level auth.

MS recently released a set of end-user training sites
that can be deployed into your Sharepoint environment.
These "learner" sites provide tips as well as
interactive videos on a wide array of products. You

So, that Codeplex project is actually 'sharepoint training'? From
reading it, I've always understood it to be a SCORM compliant web site
template to create one's own training modules.

Yes, it is a training framework. However it also includes some sample content,
primarily focused on collaboration in sharepoint. Well worth the install, IMHO.

I deployed the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 training package
(http://tinyurl.com/2wyxau) for our users. You just install it into your
existing farm. It has a lot of content for end users that not only covers the
"how to do", but also the why's and wherefore's. Since then we've started to
create our own SCORM compliant packages for customised end user training.
