How to enable anonymous user to view lists and documents in internet

Asked By: Grace    Date: Sep 11    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1382

I have created an internet presence site collection and configured it
to form authentication with anonymous access to entire web site, it
runs well for the anonymous user to access the publishing pages, while
when the user click the lists or doments on left navigation bar or
items under lists or doments, it will direct to the login form, which
means the anonymous user have no right to access the lists and
documents, how can i configure it to enable anonymous user access the
lists and documents, or if it is impossible to achieve this by
configuration, then what i need to do to achieve that goal by code?

Is this for a WSS site  or a portal? What are your anonymous  access settings set to? For WSS, did you check the anonymous access  setting for the list (Go to list – Modify Settings and Columns – Change Permissions for this list – Change anonymous access)?

I am running MOSS 2007 beta2, so what i have done are all under
sharepoint server 2007's central administration and site  setting,
like "enable anonymous  access", creating a site collection  under the
template "internet presence  site", let anonymous user  access "entire
web site" etc. I am new to sharepoint, what you mean "wss site or
portal" should be under sharepoint portal 2003, which i have little
knowledge.

when i add a list, it will be placed under lists, which seems
created when creating the site collection, under default setting,
new list will appear on left  navigation under lists, i can set the
permission for my created  list, but not lists, which i guess is a
folder or something else; likewise , if i create a document, it will
be placed under documents; so actually i need to set lists  and
documents(folder or something) permission first, but i can't find
anywhere to set the permission.

maybe i missed some config, any idea is appreciated!
