Cannot Edit/Update/Save SharePoint 2010 Publishing Pages

Date: May 29    Category: Sharepoint 2010    Views: 3251

We've just completed our upgrade to SharePoint 2010 from SharePoint 2007. We
are having issues changing or adding any items on our Publishing Pages
specifically pages using the "Welcome Page with summary links" page layout.

When we click the "New Link" or "Edit" or "Delete" buttons the edit dialog does
not popup. I've hacked the /TEMPLATE/LAYOUTS/1033/CmsSummaryLinks.js and added
a variable called swlp_enabled and set it to true. This allows the popups to
show. But whenever we try to make changes and hit "OK", the data never updates.
On other pages something as with simple as adding a new image to the page, when
we hit Publish or Checkin nothing happens, when we hit Save and Close the Save
Changes throbber shows up and never saves.

I've verified that the SharePoint Server Publishing Feature and the SharePoint
Server Standard Site Features are enabled.

Does anyone have any ideas what is going on? Is our installation and/or our
publishing templates broken?

I am facing exactly the same issue. We just upgraded the our sites from MOSS 2007 to SP 2010 using Database attach approach. It had a custom site defination and template which also upgraded successfully. I am not able to edit any existing page to modify its content. Even "Add a webpart" link is not working. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
