editing Word and Acrobat docs

Asked By: John Saville         Date: May 04, 2011      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 1778

Hello

I just installed Sharepoint Server 2010. I am using maimly pdf forms that I want the group to be able to edit and resave in Sharepoint. I have added <Mapping Key="pdf" Value="pdficon_small.gif" EditText="Adobe Acrobat" OpenControl="SharePoint.OpenDocuments" /> to the DOCICON.xml file. The icon is showing up and I now get the option to edit in Adobe Acrobat. However when I try I get the following error "The document could not be opened for editing. A Windows SharePoint Services compatible application could not be found to edit the document". I have also tried to edit a Word 2010 document in sharepoint and get the same error.

Is their a way to edit the control so that the correct files are associated with these two forms?

Thanks

John
