Editing Properties from Search Results

Asked By: Tony    Date: Apr 26    Category: Sharepoint 2010    Views: 1198

Hi there.

I am looking to see how I can edit the properties of my search results. Currently we have our historical data stored in sharepoint using a folder structure for 40+ years of information.

In each folder contains some sub folders and files. However, not all of the metadata has been give to the files. I am looking to see if I can search by the Author of the document and then edit the properties from there.

For example: If I search all documents uploaded by Sarah from our root folder, I can see all her documents But I cannot seem to have the ability to modify any of their properties.

If I cannot do this then I will have to do through each year and its subfolder to track down the files she added and add the metadata that way, I am hoping there is an easier way.

Thanks for your help!
