Editing a picture in Sharepoint with Office 2000

Does anyone know how the procedure for editing a picture in
Sharepoint with Office 2000?

I tried downloading the picture to my desktop, made the changes and
then used the Add Picture function checking the Overwrite existing
files box and it doesn't update.

i kept the backup of the image, and then deleted the
one on the library, and then uploaded the new one wid
da same name, and that worked fine
