Edit Text Box Preview

In SharePoint 2007, the first several hundred characters of the
contents of a text box are shown in large font above the text box
itself when one clicks on the "Edit Text" button. However, above the
large font, there is also smaller font which shows the breadcrumb for
the web part and also previews the content of the web part.

First, why is there a preview for the content in both the large and
small fonts when you can also see the content in the text box
itself?

Second, is there a way to reduce the size of the large font since it
takes up so much real estate and is, frankly speaking, quite visually
annoying?
