We have a workflow that routes links to documents for review. The
tasks and emails contain a link to the view item properties for Word
Documents. Users with Office 2007 can click on the name of the file
and open it, choosing whether they want to open Read Only or in Edit
mode. No problem

HOWEVER, all the users just got upgraded to Office 2003 last year and
have no plans to move to Office 2007. Clicking on a document with 2003
automatically opens it in Read Only mode. Also, Microsoft removed
the "Edit in Microsoft Word" link that used to appear in the toolbar on
the Edit Item form.

How can we construct a link that will open the document for editing?
