edit meta-data on DocLib ?

Date: May 29    Category: MOSS    Views: 605

On a Moss 2007 environment. I have made 10-20 doc libs over 4-5 site-collections
w no obivious problems. However, in one doc lib created 1+ yrs ago .....

I added a column "viewfilter" to a doc lib. No content mgmt, no check-out, no
required columns. The items in lib are either uploaded Excel files or web pages
created w the "add web page to this site" then picking the doc lib to store page
into. Never used the "new" button on this doc lib.

The column viewfilter does not appear when uploading nor in the properties edit
pane. Yet I must have populated it somehow, sometime, cause, maybe, 20 items out
of 50 have values in this field. We use the "viewfilter" column to be able to
create different views.

Why is this doc lib different (other ones show all columns in edit properties
pane)? What did I do wrong? How do I get to be able to modify the "viewfilter"
