Edit in Datasheet View...

We are running WSS and not SPS. We are facing problem to edit the
datasheet view Issue list. The following is the error display:

"The list cannot be displayed in Datasheet view for one or more of
the following reasons: A datasheet component compatible with Windows
SharePoint Services is not installed "

We have installed MS office 2003 on Clinet machine. we have not
installed office 2003 on server. Can anybody tell us the solution why
we are not able to edit the datasheet? eventhough we are an
administrator of the WSS server.

One more thing the field "Assigned To" will not diplay all user when
you click the item level issue Dropdown list.

Datasheet view issue:
Did you install Office 2003 Professional? Are ActiveX controls allowed
in the browser?

Assigned To issue:
Only users who have visited the site will appear in the Assigned To
field. That lookup field is based off the user info table, which is
populated when a user visits the site, not when they are added as a user
to the site.

Try to reinstall Office 2003; it must be installed last.

Have you installed the Office2003 SharePoint Patch on the clients?
