Edit AppPool Security to allow SPRoleAssignment

Asked By: Vikat    Date: Apr 23    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 876

I am having nothing but difficulties with this every step. All that is
metnioned in the posts below has been done. I have the code so it is
using 'RunWithElevatedPrivileges' correctly. But I'm still getting a
403 (Forbidden) page. As Paul had mentioned that the AppPool may need
to have some more permissions for this to work.

So I started looking into this. Instead of using the Predefined
'Network Service' as the user for the AppPool, I am attempting to
setup a separate user for this. So I go in and made sure this user has
permissions to the database and all that would be necessary (WSS_WPG,
etc.. pretty much for testing purposes I've given them Admin Access).
BUT, when any user besides the Site Admin tries to go to ANY PAGE
under that Web, they get the SharePoint page 'Error Access: Denied'
but this user definitely has access to all of this web. I have looked
around and I believe I have to do something like give Authenticated
Users rights to that user, but not sure how to do this, or if that's
even why this is coming up?!?

I would alternatively be up for just giving the 'Network Service'
rights to use SPRoleAssignment if someone knows how to do so?

I am all out of resources and patience on this, if someone could save
me. It would be appreciated as always.
