Documents Status web part

Asked By: Roland    Date: Aug 20    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1273

has anyone installed doc_status web part from Sharepoint Resource Kit?
I followed the instructions and ran the vb script (directly from the
CD-ROM), but even if I received no error something must have gone wrong,
because the script didn't create the CheckedOutBy and CurrentApprovers
folders under the hidden folder http://ServerName/WorkspaceName/system. As a
result the web part shows no documents checked out or wainting user's
approval.
What's wrong?

Is this how the checkout thing works? Ive been playing with RC2 and was
wondering how to trigger whether the doc was checked  out or not .. Anyone
know how to turn this on in SPS2 beta?

Rerun the script. Best thing is try it out on a new workspace.

I logged on the SPS server as the domian administrator (who' got coordinator
rights on the workspace)re-ran the script  and imported the web  part in the
home dashboard but is not working.
I copied the doc_status  folder in a location of the SPS server hard disk,
opened a command prompt and change to that location and then ran the script
doc_status_install.vbs. Still the folders CheckedOutBy and CurrentApprovers
weren't created.
Any suggestions?

I've found my error. My sharepoint  portal server is the italian edition and
so the folder  Documents doesn't exit. I had to edit the
doc_status_install.vbs and change "Documents" with "Documenti".
