Document library total

Asked By: Raven    Date: Feb 09    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 995

I have tried searching, but have not been able to find an answer to this. I have
a document library that displays 5912 documents when using the Count function,
but when i navigate to view all site content, it shows 6253. I have double
checked, and there are no filters that could cause a problem.

i think 5912 are the total  number of documents and 6253 is the doucments and the
folders, subfolders all together (if around 300+) folders and subfolders you
have in the document  library as for a site a folder also a list item with a flat
set to different value.

Are they all of the same type? It may not respect file types other than the
Document Template that you used to create the site...say, it was set up to be a
Word Document Library?

You could have files that were never checked in. This usually happens on
mandatory column or require check out. Try viewing checked out files in doclib
settings. Then, you could always take ownership and check them in.
