Anyone know the best way to migrate a document library while retaining all

Have you looked into a program called Backup Elite SC Version 4.0 (about
$600). It is a light-weight SharePoint Backup application that provides
you with the ability to dynamically backup, migrate, and restore
SharePoint Site Collections.

migrate  (Export) site Document Libraries to File while
maintaining folder structure
* Migrate (move or copy) Individual Lists with Views and
Permissions
* Migrate Items from one List to another

My last company used it, it works very well!

I demo'd this product, it is very light-weight and
simple/straightforward. Unfortunately, the version that I demo'd lacked
some critical functionality.

I ended up with a product called DocAve from AvePoint. This is the real
deal for Sharepoint backup/DR + many other additional features.

Well worth a look: http://www.avepoint.com
