Document Libraries & My Network Places

I have a question about document libraries. Many of our users use "My
Network places" as thier primiary management system for document
libraries as this is much easier for them then having to load a
browser. This is great however there are some issues we have
experienced with using My Network Places. The biggest issue is that
files and folders seem to dissapear from view in a library. You can
still see them on the web browser, just not in the network place. These
are not newly created files or folders either. A reboot of the users
laptop generally fixes the issue and the folders / files become visible

This ability is very important for our users convienince. Any thoughts
or suggestions or known issues with using My Network Places would be
much appriciated.

You can use 'Published Links to Client Applicatoins' in Shared Services
Administratoin and push "save to" locations to your Office 2007 clients. They
will update every 24 hours by default by pull mechanism. I am working on a blog
I hope to post this week - step by step.

not hard to do, the interface is fairly intuitive. Oh, you can target audiences
to the locations as well.

This sounds suspiciously familiar to another issue  we encountered recently with
Windows 2003 servers and XP clients -


here's the link to the Microsoft Knowledgebase article...We had a patch we
applied to the server and each client as a workaround.
