Doc_status web part

Asked By: Jeremy    Date: Aug 26    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 479

I have installed the "doc-status" part on the "document inspection"
page....sometimes the screen loads with an error message in the part
"XML Load Error - Whitespace is not allowed in this area"....then other
times it works just fine. Any thoughts?

I am using this web  part, but I have never encountered this error. I have it
on a separate dashboard, and it works  fine for Coordinators, but it doesn't
at all work for Authors. No matter which option they select, it still says
'Checked Out to You' at the top, and no docs are listed. Have you got the
web part  working for authors?

I don't seem to be having any problems with people using the web  part
(author or coordinator). Did you run the vbs for that particular
workspace? If they don't have any documents to list under the different
selections, it might also default back to "checked out, no doc's"...it
doesn't do this on mine, but I'm learning that all things Sharepoint
related seem to function differently on different machines. Let me know
if any of this helps.

I ran the VBS with a local admin/coordinator account. The authors do have
docs checked out, but nothing shows. I think you're right about SharePoint
being a bit flaky - we've had a few strange problems that have even left
Microsoft confused. Thanks for your suggestions, and let me knwo if you
think of anything else.
