Doc Lib Question

Asked By: Madeline Francis         Date: Sep 19, 2007      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 204

We are thinking about using InfoPath for things like vacation requests,
expense reports, etc. We will store new requests in a document library
and kick off a workflow from there. What are the limitations for thew
numbers of files I can store in a document library? If I use InfoPath
would I be storing these requests in a document library, or a list?

The recommended limits for doc  libraries are 2,000 items to a view -
2,000 folders to a view - so you can have 2,000 folders each with 2,000
items in - greater numbers than that and you get performance issues.

Generally, I would tie the infopath  doc to a document  type to a doc
library
