Displaying multiple Contact Details web parts on a page

Asked By: Dexter    Date: Aug 12    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 17213

Since you are only able to display one user in the Contact Details web
part, I added a few of them to a page. The issue I have run into now
is that the presence icon drop-down menu only works on the very first
contact. I can't get it to display on the other contacts. Is this a
bug? Anyone else run into this?

I want to display multiple contacts on a Team Site page with the
presence icon. Maybe there is a different way I should be going about

You can go ahead and just create a regular custom list on your site, and
just put in a person lookup field. Then, add that list as a list view
web part on your page, and only display  that one person column. Then,
you'll have the presence  and even a picture if you'd like.

but I can't get the presence  icon to display  the drop-
down menu  on any of the people.

When I had the issue  on my workstation with the missing presence  icons,
the problem was really with my client workstation / software, and not
sharepoint itself. (I do have Office 2007)

The solution ended up being as simple as deleting and re-creating my
Outlook profile.

Yes, I have also experianced this, although I do not know the cause. We
wanted to have one contact  lookup show all users and then the second
contact lookup just show users from a site  group - we couldn't get it
to work so we have both lookups showing all users. (Not what we wanted
but it will work for now...)
