Displaying Listing Title rather than filename in Keyword best

Asked By: Bhairavi    Date: Aug 18    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 957

We have a SPS 2003 site where keyword best bets are set for documents using
the Area Web Service's CreateAreaListing method.
Here, the URL contains a value of this format
SERVER/SITE/DOCLIB/view.aspx?param=documentUrl, (where View.aspx is
our own View page)

When a search is conducted, the keyword best bets turn up as expected.
However, it shows the File Name of the target page in the URL text (ie:
"View.aspx" here), whereas we would like to have the Title of the listing
(eg: "Java"), or at least the title of the target page (eg: "View page").
In other words, although the link is correct, the link text is simply the
target's filename, whereas we need the listing Title or at least the target
page's title there.

We also noticed that when a keyword best bet contained a Url like
http://www.google.com or http://www.yahoo.com, SPS would visit the page and
put the page title in the keyword best bet list, but we could not get this
to work on our custom pages.

We'll appreaciate any insight on how this can be achieved.
