I am having an issue related to the discussion forum
on the main portal site. Uses that have reader access
can not post replies in the forum. We would like for
them to participate. I cannot seem to find the
security settings for the discussion forum; and so can
not change the security to allow them this access. I
think I am on the right track though. I went into the
οΏ½Modify settings and columnsοΏ½
section for the forum, but do not see an option to
modify the security settings for each type of user,
specifically for the forum.
I have however found how to change the security on a
team site forum. As in the portal, if you select
"Modify settings and columns" there is an extra option
called "Change permissions for this discussion board",
that allows you to modify the permissions for a reader
to be able to "view, insert, edit, and delete items".
This would allow them to post in the discussion board.
Why is it that I can not do the same on the Portal
discussion board? Can someone show me how?
