Disabling the visibility of page fields in a pagelayout in end user view and enabling the view

i want to create a page-layout with all the necessary fields where i want to allow the creator of page(in edit mode) to enter the field values while creating a page .but for the end user(in dispaly mode) i don't want show some of the fields and its values on the page layout.how to do this in SharePoint .what are the properties to be set to achieve this .is there any such possibility?
