Disable Library Link

Asked By: Marques    Date: May 04    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 2113

I have seen other Sharepoint sites that had the library webpart where you
could view it but the link into the library it's self was disabled. I am
trying to have say a text webpart or library to where you can just see what
is in the textbox but not be able to click the name on the title bar and
actually go into the library or text area.

For most Web parts, there is a property called 'Detail Link' available in the
property pages. If you clear this property, the hyperlink is removed (but the
text still stays there)

Thanks, Exactly what I was looking for. But is there a way to remove the
everything and just show say the values of a list

This really depends on the specific control. So for example, it's not
possible with the document library  Web Part that ships with SPS or WSS. The
best you can do with this one is choose 'No Toolbar' (or something similar)
from the property pages, and to put a period or underscore as the Web Part
title. (Putting spaces doesn't work - it gets displayed as 'Untitled'

SharePoint Team Services in particular the CAML
language as used in STS - please advise people posting questions here which
are about Windows sharepoint  Services to post to WSS at
microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices if they are general questions or
to microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices.development if they are (like
this one) "programming" questions and answer them there so all WSS
programmers can see the Q+As.
