Need to Disable a few Features in WSS 3.0

Asked By: Britney    Date: Aug 10    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1669

First I need to disable the Explorer View Feature on a document library
without disable all client access features.

Also need to diable for a basic user the ability to change a view off
of the default view. But for supervior or contributor role they will
need to be able to change the view what ever they want.

Adding and changing views is controlled by the 'Manage Lists' list
permission. The default  'contribute' permission level has that
permission turned off, so if you delete the view  as a site
administrator, no one else will be able to add it back in. You may wish
to set up your own custom permission level for supervisors to create
their own views without giving them full control.

Site Settings > Permissions > Permission Levels

That set me in the right direction for the views. But what
about the removing the Explorer view  on the documents library feature.
I have see articles on how to remove specific items off of menus but
nothing on that particular menu... Any help would be.... well
helpful.
