WSS v2:

I have a site hosted by an external company. I recently backed up
this site using the backup tool in FrontPage. I needed to make
a "2006 archive" site from the backup.

I tried to restore it locally--since backing up via the internet
took forever, I wanted to test a quick restore on our intranet first
before trying it on the externally-hosted site.

The restore seemed to work, but I couldn't get to the default page.
I could get to other pages, like the /_layouts/1033/mngsubwebs.aspx
page of the site, and to subsites.

Now- I *did* unghost the original default page by removing
the "Discussions" label from the Quick Launch bar. Is this what's
causing my problem?

If the problem does stem from the unghosting, is there anything I
can do besides unghosting the original default page, backing up, and
restoring again? The main reason I don't want to do this is it is
still an active site, and we still don't want the "Discussion" label
on the Quick Launch bar.

Sorry for this long one. I'm really hoping someone can help me
figure this out!
