Design This Page crashes IE

Asked By: Grace Lewis         Date: May 11, 2006      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 205

We are experiencing this error almost every time we click Design The Page:
The instruction at "0x30cb05e4" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The
memory could not be "written"

Anyone see anything like that before. I suspect that some of the MS
Security patches we've recently rec'd are causing this.

Please refer to KB articles
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918899
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923762/

Workaround: please follow these steps

To work around this problem, follow these steps:
1. Start Internet Explorer 6.
2. On the Tools menu, click  Internet Options, and then click the Advanced tab.
3. In the Settings box, click to clear the Use HTTP 1.1 check box under HTTP 1.1 settings, and then click OK.

To remove KB918899 from your system
Go to Add/remove Programs (Start > Settings> Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs) Up the top there should be a box that you have to put a tick into called "Show updates", tick that and it should give you all the updates that you have installed there. Highlight KB918899 and select remove.

I was just coming here to update with that. Unchecking http 1.1
did it for me.
