Deploy Updates from Dev to Production

Trying to determine what's the correct way to move updates from developement to
a production server. I have made changes to pages, added pages & added librarys
on a developement server and want to move those changes to a production server.
Some of the existing librarys on the development site don't contain all the data
in the production so I can't move the whole site.

Was reading about using SP Designer but that will move the lists/libraries which
will wipe out the updated libraries on the production side. I was able just to
open 2 instances of SPD and use copy & paste but the new picture libraries
aren't coming thru nicely.

I have used STSADM - but this was only to move a whole site to an empty new site
in production.

Do you use Central Admin - backup & restore?

Sounds like you'd copy  the pages  and then maybe save the library as a
template...?
