Deleted all users and Permissions

I have 4 site collections in my Share point Env. For one of the Site
Collection all the permissions and users were deleted .

Currently users are not able to access the share point site collection.

Can you please share your Ideas or Thoughts what may be the exact reason for
the mess up for the permissions.

Someone deleted them. It doesn't just happen out of the blue. Do you have a
backup you can restore? Also, SharePoint is one word.
