Deleating revisions

I'm trying to delete old document revisions from the SHADOW folder
but I'm getting access denied messages.
I doing this from the server logged on as administrator which has
coordainator rights.
I've tried this on other SPS servers and get the same result.
Anyone have any Ideas?
