Has anyone else encountered a delay in the creation of the IIS Web pool
and web site when you are creating a new web application in Sharepoint
2007?
When I hit the create Sharepoint churns for a bit then comes back with
a success. However, the IIS parts are not created right away. I found
that it take about an hour.

I am creating these in a Farm environment with a WFE, App server and an
DB server.
I figured that there must be some sort of job that deals with this ad
it is scheduled to run at some interval.

I have searched high and low and can not find any reference.
