Debugging the Data View Web Part

Does anyone have suggestions on how I can debug the data view web part?
I am getting the following error:

"Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this
Web page in a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible HTML editor such as
FrontPage. If the problem persists, contact your Web server
administrator."

If I try to open the page with the web part in FP2003, the data displays
as expected.

Anyone have any thoughts?
