I've got an SP Designer page with a single dataview webpart that uses a web service method to do a product search. The web service calls SAP and usually will return the data (in XML format) within 20 seconds, even for a few thousand lines of data. But in the sharepoint page, the dataview web part often times out at 30 seconds. If I hit the go button again it usually will display it the second time, and rarely I need to do it a third time before it works.

I figure that there is a default timeout for the webpart somewhere within the site collection, but can't find anything that seems to have any relevance to it. Can anyone help me out here?
