DataView WebPart Import Problem: The specified view is invalid

Using SharePoint Designer, I converted a listview webpart to XSLT, done a little
filtering and customization and got it displaying ok on a webpart page. However,
when I exported the webpart (.webpart) and tried to import it onto another page
(default.aspx) on the same site it got an error:

System.ArgumentException: The specified view is invalid.

Can anyone point me in the right direction with this problem? It is kind of
urgent as I have to deploy this webpart in production on Monday.
