DataView Webpart

Asked By: Erik    Date: Jan 15    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1307

We've a site-collection called "Moss-TeamSite" which is in under the root-level site-collection and customized the "Default.aspx" page with "Data view webparts" and now the page looks as expected.

We want to create and use the site-template based on the site-collection.

While trying to create a new site-collection based on the site-template, it creates all the list and documents available on the above mentioned "Moss-TeamSite" site however "Dataview Webpart" which is in "Default.aspx" is not working.

How to make it (Data view webpart) work? do we need to change any values?

Error Details:

I've resolved the issue by doing the below steps:

Open the site  in SPD
copy the DVWP code
Paste it in Notepad
Search for "/sites/Test/" -> from where STP created
Replace with "/sites/Testone/" -> created by using STP.
Paste the code back to the SPD
Save the Page
Browse the Page
But I don't want to replace the content, so is there a way to resolve this issue without modifying the contnet?

I found a way to resolve the DVWP issue, we've to replace the default  code with below:

<
SelectParameters>
<
WebPartPages:DataFormParameter PropertyName="ParameterValues" ParameterKey="ListName" DefaultValue="Team Links" Name="ListName"
>

<
DeleteParameters>
<
WebPartPages:DataFormParameter PropertyName="ParameterValues" ParameterKey="ListName" DefaultValue="Team Links" Name="ListName"
>

<
UpdateParameters>
<
WebPartPages:DataFormParameter PropertyName="ParameterValues" ParameterKey="ListName" DefaultValue="Team Links" Name="ListName"
>

<
InsertParameters>
<
WebPartPages:DataFormParameter PropertyName="ParameterValues" ParameterKey="ListName" DefaultValue="Team Links" Name="ListName
">

<
parameterbindings>
<
ParameterBinding Name="ListName" Location="None" DefaultValue="Team Links"
/>
<
ParameterBinding Name="dvt_apos" Location="Postback;Connection"
/>
<
ParameterBinding Name="UserID" Location="CAMLVariable" DefaultValue="CurrentUserName"
/>
<
ParameterBinding Name="Today" Location="CAMLVariable" DefaultValue="CurrentDate"
/>

Note: "Team Links" is the name of the List

if you change  the parameters from the browser also this will work.
