One at a time:

Q: Is there a way to connect  the data  from to a list  to a subsite  in wss?
A: Sure, use the web service at http://[site]/_vti_bin/lists.asmx or the
FrontPage Data Catalog.

Q: How do I share  the webparts  created?
A: Deploy the signed Web Part DLL to the virtual  server's /bin directory,
privatePath, or GAC; marked as a SafeControl in the virtual server's
web.config, with the appropriate level of trust. Provide access to the Web
Part's DWP file for import into the page or the Site Collection's Web Part
Gallery. Or deploy the Web Part into SharePoint's global Web Part gallery
for each targeted Site Collection using SharePoint's STSADM tool (see answer
to next question).

Q: How do I upload webparts to the Virtual Gallery?
A: Create a CAB file for the web part and use:
STSADM -o addwppack -filename "c:\[cabname].cab"
to deploy it to the virtual gallery

I walk developers thru the steps of how to accomplish these feats and many
more in my class for SharePoint developers:

I have a web service that returns a basic XML string. Inside my
webservice project I did not define a class for the object it is
returning and the web service method returns a string, not a List(of
MyObject). Is it possible to use the data  view part to consume this
data? Everytime I try to "Show Data" on my data source in SharePoint
Designer, it gives me the "check the format of your query" error.

Any ideas?
