Customizing Navigations (Quick Launch)

  Asked By: Gonzalo    Date: Feb 03    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1691

I would like to know how to customize the Quick Launch Menu
options. Our Organization has the requirement to create a menu option
as follows (Kind of fly-outs): Level 1 --> Level A -->
Level a --> Level i
Level ii Level iii Level B
Level 2 --> Level A Level B -->
Level a Level b Since the default Navigation
in Quick launch provides only 1 level of child nodes, I am not able to
add the 2nd, 3rd or the 4th child nodes. Could some one help in
achieving this?

Quick launch  is defined in the master page. If you open it's source code,
quick launch has some attributes out of which the following are of our interest.

These are the default  settings. If you set MaximumDynamicDisplayLevels to more
than 0, you can see fly outs. You can now guess that you are only seeing two
levels due to the value 2 for StatisDisplayLevels.

I thought this only applied to the top level  navigation menu..on the
top of the page, not the quick  launch menu  on the side of the page.

It applies to all Navigation Providers in WSS v3.
