Customizing List

We have downloaded a .wsp file which holds the template for the "Help

The template has a list to capture the Service request details.

I would like to customize this list. There are 2 fields in the List.
One is a text field and another is Lookup. We are unable to delete
these 2 fields from the list.

Request your inputs on how to delete these 2 fields and have the clean
list, so that we can add new the list columns according to our

In order to customize  the ServiceRequests list  of HelpDesk template, you can
hide, add, delete  columns from the Content Type(ServiceRequest) of this list.
This you can find from the List settings option. In This approach when you add  a
column in content type you will see added columns  in all three
forms(NewForm.aspx, EditForm.aspx, and DispForm.aspx), and same thing applies to
hide and delete also ( Some if the columns you cant delete which are Sealed from
list definition itself).

Other way, for restricting new columns, like displaying particular column in
NewForm.aspx not in EditForm.aspx and vice-versa. you have to customize in
couple places at path:

......\12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\HelpDeskServiceRequestsList, this list will have all
the columns which are displayed in ServiceRequests list and this list will look
up for Columns in following feature called, TSATypes.

......\12\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\TSATypes, this will have definition for all the
columns which are used for not only HelpDesk template  for different site
templates(40) provided Microsoft
