Customising My Site

Asked By: Jackson    Date: May 13    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 794

I need to modify the My Site template in SPS so that it contains some more aspx
files (other than the default/public aspx files). Normally, to modify a
template, you change the onet.xml file to include the new files into the
template, adding

<File Url="<new page>.aspx" Type="Ghostable" />

To the modules section. However, this doesn't work with My Site - apparently the
template is run once on SPS installation and all users see the same virtual site
(http://weblogs.asp.net/mnissen/articles/68629.aspx explains this briefly). So,
changing the onet.xml in the template has no effect. Has anyone done any
customisations to My Site like this? Is it possible to update the template and
re-generate the My Site?
