Custom security model for a webpart

Asked By: Ronald Ramirez         Date: Oct 07, 2008      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 218

I want to create a webpart for which I want some custom roles to be
defined like an employee or a project manager. When the user with the
corresponding role browses the WSS site he should be able to do things
on the webpart as per the role to which he falls into. Is this
supported by SPS?
And if yes, then what about the security model which already exists in
SPS which has roles like admin, reader etc.?
What are the ways to implement this in a WSS site? And will the user
authorization need to be done from the webpart?
