Custom document converter in MOSS 2007

Has any one worked on creating custom document converters for MOSS 2007?

My query is related to its deployment. Actually I have created a custom document converter and deployed it on MOSS server. I then activated it for a specific web application (it got activated without any error via stsadm). But some how, the option for Document Conversion is not appearing on the document dropdown.

You have probably already read this article. However, it does mention you must manually copy the conversion files to a certain place because the feature activation did not copy them.
