custom calculation fields and colored text in sharepoint document l

I am trying to figure out how I should go about ultimately creating a view for an existing document library that displays calculated fields (dates that are over 14 days) and highlights them red.

I tried this a while back trying to use a calculated field but it never really worked correctly. i am open to some custom template or site definition modification, or even a web part that could present this information would work as well.
