Cube as datasource in SharePoint

Asked By: Madhavi    Date: Jun 11    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1297

We have a cube developed in SSAS.
We have a need to source this cube on a sharepoint server and define some KPIs on share point.
Is there a way in which this can be achieved without using PPS?

Maybe you could try the approach I have read on Richard Lee's website using Excel Services as a cube  browser. I tried this in a demo environment, and it worked: richardlees.blogspot.com/.../...icrosoft-olap.html
The bottom line is: You create an Excel workbook containing a pivot table accessing your SSAS cube, the workbook is published to MOSS via Excel Services, and you embed the Excel Services workbook in one or several pages.

[You might have to configure Kerberos delegation in order to be able to drill down in the pivot table.]
