Try this link
msdn.microsoft.com/.../sha\
repoint_webparttemplates.asp

This provides a set of Web Part Templates for Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. You
can create your own web parts for SPS 2003 beta.

Will this work with SPS 2001 SDK?
or just SPS 2003?

I have only tried it with SPS 2003.
And I don't think it works for SPS 2001
