Creating workflow for documents

Asked By: Sheldon Marquez         Date: Sep 23, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 228

Is there a way to implement workflow to a document library withough
creating custom event handlers? Maybe as a Web part or a property on
the doc library? The standard workflow processes such as approval,
rejection, and pend would be sufficient. There seems to be a little
documentation on this for SPS 2001 but nothing for SPS2003 with WSS.

Event handlers  are the only built-in workflow  in SPS2003 and/or WSS. There are
several 3rd party vendors that do this, such as SourceCode, Captaris, etc.

You may want to look at some of the projects on gotdotnet that deal with
workflow - they may give you a good starting point. For example:-

SharePoint workflow  Libraries -
www.gotdotnet.com/.../Workspace.aspx
-bc95-c81acc75e68f

Workflow lite -
www.gotdotnet.com/.../Workspace.aspx
