Creating audience using nested distribution list

Asked By: Jackie Ayala         Date: Jun 06, 2005      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 479

I am trying to compile an audience based on the membership of a
distribution group. However, it is not pulling in the right number of
people. Does anyone know if an audience can be compiled from a
distribution list that is made up of other distribution lists (and may
go another level deeper of distribution lists from there). For
example, I am trying to create an audience of just USA based
employees. The distribution list that I am basing this off of is made
up of distribution lists for each of our US based offices, which may
be made up of other distribution lists.

So the real question is... Is sharepoint smart enough to know to keep
digging through all of the sub-lists

Thanks for the help in advance

Nested groups seems to create  problems during profile imports and audience
building when audience  rule is group  membership, particularly when groups are
from different domains.
