How to Create a MOSS 2007 VPC Image

Asked By: Katie    Date: May 21    Category: MOSS    Views: 781

For those of you who are interested in building a Microsoft Office
SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007) virtual machine for demos or
development, I'm working on a series of blog posts which describe the
process that I have taken to build my own VPC (Virtual PC) image.

It's very detailed -- including screenshots -- and I'd like to get your
feedback on tips and best practices if you've built your own VPC images
for MOSS 2007. If fact, because it's so detailed, I've had to break it
into several blog posts.

Here is the link to my blog where you can read all about it:

Nice set of instructions.

I added couple of comments:

- It is the System Event Notification Service that is blocking
your communications between Office applications installed on the server
and SharePoint server components. NET STOP SENS will resolve those
issues or you can simply stop and disable the service.

- The document conversion feature will not work on Domain
Controllers. I need to test a couple of work-arounds
