I would like to extend the advanced search control to enable searching
information outside the scope of SharePoint (i.e. data repositories
that SharePoint search cannot crawl). I saw in SharePoint 2003 there
was a class
Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls.AdvancedSearchControl that you
could inherit from and create your own extended Advanced Search
Control. However, I cannot find this same control in 2007. Where did
it go? Can I inherit from the AdvancedSearchControl Web Part in 2007?
