Crawling another Farm

Asked By: Kris    Date: Jan 08    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1474

We've now got two Sharepoint farms (on our test system) and add it all
seems to be working well, apart fom the searching.

On Server1 (in farm1) I've added, to the content sources, the url
http://server4 <http://server4/> (that's in farm2). When I set it to
do a full crawl I get an error.....

Access is denied. Check that the Default Content Access Account has
access to this content, or add a crawl rule to crawl this content. (The
item was deleted because it was either not found or the crawler was
denied access to it.)

The event log shows.....

EventID : 2436, Category : Gatherer

The start address <http://server4> cannot be crawled.

Context: Application 'SharedServices - default', Catalog
'Portal_Content'

Details:

Access is denied. Check that the Default Content Access
Account has access to this content, or add a crawl rule to crawl this
content. (0x80041205)

I've made sure the default content access account has access to
http://server4 <http://server4/> , and I can open http://server4
<http://server4/> from server1.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?
