CQWP vs. DVWP

Has anyone seen any comparison charts for Content Query Web Parts vs.
Data View Web Parts?

Also, how similar are the two when you look "under the hood"?
Specifically, does / can the dataview web part make use of some of the
caching capabilities designed for the CQWP - specifically the Query
Multiplier?
