I've created a CQWP that rolls up all of my departmental announcements on my
main page and created the xsl markup to present it the way it does when viewing
the actual list in a web part zone (kind of).

By: User Department:
Message body text...[more]

All of the above is done with divs and css formatting.

I'm having a problem with the department item though.

In the CQWP Presentation section, you have the option to group the announcements
by site. I'd like to do that but all I want is the data, not the OOB formatting.

My question is - where is that data being pulled from and can I use that
variable in my xsl style sheet?
