A Couple Questions on Sharepoint V2.0

Asked By: Diamond    Date: Jan 02    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 864

We have implemented sharepoint V2 and are trying to get ideas on the
following items:

1. Graphics - when creating custom banners, is there any particular
size that you would reccomend?

2. When creating a Sharepoint document library, you have the option
to set a template for Create Document. Is there any way to modify
this so that when a user clicks create, you can prompt them to pick
an application rather than force one (Word as default versus a
choice of Programs). Ideally when clicking create, it should allow
the user to select which program to use. Also, is there a way to get
the auto check in feature offered in Office 11 to be a part of
Office XP. Basically when the user closes a document it prompts them
to check the document in. Any one have workarounds? In addition,
when you set an alert on a particular document, is there a way to
show this alert rather than the default document library alert.
Similar to if you set an alert at the site level, it has the
description appear as the alert name. When performing the same task
on a document, only the library's name appears. We want to see all
alerts for documents show.

3. Any one tried creating custom security roles? If so, are there
any standard ones that you would suggest in terms of access rights.
